The Corndoggies Story: While driving south out of town, we spotted this lonely, mustard yellow, 1975, GMC RV for sale. We immediately flipped a U-turn to admire its beauty. We scribbled down the phone number off the "FOR SALE" sign hanging in the window, and a few weeks later sweet-talked our way into the drivers seat. The maiden voyage was camping up the Poudre river canyon to contemplate the fate of big yellow. It wasn't long after many camp fires, that the decision was made to turn big yellow into something that many people could enjoy -- and this is how "CORNDOGGIES" was born!
We like to do things the right way (also known as the hard way). This is why we make our own batter, our own sauces, and even our own dogs! Yes, that's right, all the dogs are uniquely spiced, ground, and then piped gently into the casings. The only exception is with the classic and footlong dogs -- which are 100% beef, ordered fresh for each event, because you can't perfect perfection! Every time we are at a new brewery, we make a special beer mustard with one of their selected brews! The details are there, right down to the spicy red bell katsup for the classic dog. Instructions for eating: dip in sauce & put it in your mouth.
Reaching from his New York, Midwest, and Colorado culinary roots, John has created a delectable assortment of creative corndogs. Why corndogs? Because though no one will admit it, most people have a secret obsession with the meat on a stick covered in a delicious piping hot corn batter.
A dreamer can dream, but making it a reality is the most satisfying thing. Partnering with John in this unique and fun adventure of starting up a food truck has been the highlight of my last two years.
