Got a burning question for us?

Booking and the Business

Is Corndoggies Available For Private Events?

Absolutely! We’re here to make your event amazing. Types of events we have been to but are not limited too are, weddings, festivals, birthdays, parties, office parties, picnics, meetings, special event, etc.

What Are The Minimum Requirements For Private Events?

First and foremost, the best way for us to give you the most accurate cost is to fill out our form submission on the ‘BOOK THE TRUCK’ page. This helps us know what to expect for the event.

For a rough idea, here is a basic break down:

•Monday - Thursday / $800 minimum + 18% service charge and tax

•Friday / $1000 minimum +18% service charge and tax

•Saturday - Sunday / $1200 minimum + 18% service charge and tax

Why Do You Have A Minimum To Book Private Events?

We are a small business who is not afraid to hustle. But we value ourselves and our business. The minimum is to protect us and our time as we are providing a service and there are a lot of costs that go into each and every business out there.

Guest count can also be off by hundreds from the host which can really affect our prep time, the amount of employees we have, etc.

What Is The Service Charge For?

There are a lot of costs to run a business. Some of the costs on a food truck vs a brick and mortar are, gas, propane, vehicle maintenance, etc. The service charges goes to the business to help cover gas and propane for your event and to ensure our staff receives a tip.

Do You Charge For Travel?

There is no travel fee with a ten-mile radius of our Fort Collins location; after that, there may be additional charges for transportation. It all depends on where we are traveling. Our trucks are not young and spry and have to take side roads.

What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?

For purchases: Cash, all major credit cards, apple pay

For booking truck: We create an invoice which you can pay online or with a check.

Keep in mind, when there are a lot of food trucks and people around, it bogs down the cell towers which bogs down our tablet. It’s alway good to have cash on hand!

Where Can I Find The Truck If I Want A Corndog?

We post on our social media (Instagram and Facebook) with our weekly schedule which you should follow us! If you aren’t the social media type, you can visit our ‘FIND US’ tab to see our calendar.

We post public events only as our private ones are…well….private! =)

When Is National Corndog Day?

It is always the 3rd Saturday in March!

Whats The Best Way Of Contacting You?

We are busy bees between prepping for events, working on the trucks, cleaning the trucks, booking events, and running our catering company, Lickskillet Catering. SOOO Email is the best way to reach us. Fill out the form request and you’ll receive an email from us and if a different form of communication is needed, we will go from there. Do You Sell Merch Online?

Short answer, no. Longer answer, not yet! We feel we have some killer merch items and would love for you to wear them proudly and order at any time. We just have to get our ducks in a row first. For the mean time, you can ask us about hats and shirt when you visit the truck.

Hopefully we can answer it!

The Dog Details

Do You Make Your Own Corndogs?

We do! All but 3 of the dogs that we sell are our own recipes. John Lawyer created all the sausage recipes and used to fill the casing back in the day. As we have grown, we have outsourced that part of the business to the best sausage guy in the world. He uses our recipes to make the sausages and then delivers the ready product to us. We don’t make the classic, footlong or Nashville Long Hog.

We do make any specials (I see you Smoked Brisket dog), the Man n Cheese and the veggies dogs in house.

What Is The Casing On The Dogs?

At Hometown Sausage Kitchen, our sausage guy uses a collagen casing for all of our sausages.

What Makes Your Batter So Good?

Thank you for asking! We make our own batter and the main difference between ours and another is our batter contain dairy. Most places that sell corn dogs won’t have dairy in their batter but you won’t have the delicious texture and flavor that we have.

We also make our batter for our gluten free/ dairy free friends. This batter is harder with a crunch. While that batter is not our main batter nor as popular, we don’t make large batches which means our larger dogs (The Long Hog and the Footlong) are excluded from being dipped in that batter.

Why Does Your Menu Say Gluten Sensitive?

While we have a gluten free batter option, all dogs go into the same fryer for cooking. If someone has a sensitivity to gluten, using the same fryer that is at 350 degrees is typically fine. It’s truly up to you to know your own level of sensitivity. Due to all dogs going in the same fryer and that we have gluten on the truck (hello regular batter) we need to label it as “sensitivity.” Please let us know if you truly have celiac and if your dog going in the same fryer is an issue.

How Do I Know Which Corndog Is Which?

We have a color code system so we know what dog is what in the fryer and so you know what dog is what when you order a whole gaggle of them.

Classic/Footlong/Nashville = no color tip | Jalapeño = Green | Andouille = Red | Brat = Blue | Jerk Chicken = Orange | Veggie = Purple | Mac n Cheese = Yellow | Maple Bacon = Black line | Special dogs = Black

Are All Your Dogs Dipped To Order?

Yes! Once the order is placed, we grab the ‘dog’ you want, dip it in our batter and fry it up! We want your corn dog to be as fresh as possible.

How Long Does It Take For A Corndog To Cook?

Roughly 3-4 minutes in the fryer. Give us about 5 minutes to grab your dog, dip, fry and bag it up.

Keep in mind, we try to get our dogs out as fast as possible which means they will be HOT. Please use caution when grabbing your corn dog and don’t stick it immediately in your mouth.

Why Does My Corndog Sometimes Have Bumps?

Sometimes pockets of air form when dipping your dog in the batter and form a bubble when in the fryer. We always try to rip them off so you’re never served a cooked corn dog with an air pocket of not cook dough.

Do You Have A Wiener Dog?

We don’t have a wiener dog, but do have a mut who sometimes acts like a wiener. We love him so much though! His name is Marvin.
